Effect of Fish Meal Replacement by Unconventional Meal in the Post-Larval Diet of Clarias Gariepinus in Benin (West Africa)

To reduce the pressure on aquatic resources due to use of fishmeal in fish feed, mastery and alternative sources all stages development are essential. Five diets including 4 experimental one control diet were considered. Experimental post-larvae developed from unconventional ingredients which was completely replaced by a mixture brewer’s yeast, chicken viscera maggots. These foods tested Clarias gariepinus with an initial average weight 80 ± 1 mg. 1500 individuals equally distributed 15 concrete basins volume 500 L forming five treatments triplicate. Fish fed, manually at ration rate 20%, four times per day. The specific growth rates 8.38%/day imported food 6.35%/day receiving 45.5% protein meal. Similar results obtained feed consumption index. encouraging show that it is possible partially or replace catfish obtain economically profitable production. recovery waste such as viscera, yeast soybean meal formulation this study good contribution environmental sanitation.
